What is the Best Free Blog Making Site?
I am very inspiered to make A Blog which people can share their thoughts as posts on The Blog. Or even just a good free Blog Spot? If you don’t know of any, do you have any good ideas what to Make A Blog on?
Free as in no cost in hosting and domain name or free as in open source? I’ll answer both just to make sure I cover all the bases.
No cost hosting – Wordpress.com or blogspot.com would accomplish what you’re looking to do. Drupalgardens.com could also accomplish this, although Drupal is typically for more advanced individuals as Drupal has a much larger learning curve than WordPress or Blogger. You could even jump over to using something like Wetpaint or live journal.
Open Source – WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla would all accomplish what you’re looking to do. It’d cost about $100 to buy a domain name and hosting then you’d just have to install the open source application using any of the auto install platforms that come with most hosting companies and you should be good to go. I prefer Drupal myself due to the ability to upscale a project after its been started but most people go with WordPress these days as its very easy to set up and get running.
After you’ve set up either account you then simply need to add users or allow users to register. I can’t remember exactly how to do this on a wordpress.com hosted site, or if its even possible, but its fairly easy accomplishing this with your own hosting account.
You should make a blog about something you’re passionate about. If you like video games start a video Game Blog. If you watch movies make a movie blog. Animals, animal blog, etc, etc. If you like the subject matter it won’t seem like as much work to you at the end of the day.
