Reasons for Having A Blog

One man’s blog can be both fun and profitable. The question arises here “Why not have a website instead? Is a website or a blog the better choice?” To answer let’s look at and compare a few important aspects of each.

1. Price tag

A decent looking website is not free. But even in the unlikely event you could talk someone into giving you a free site design – and that’s not likely – it still has to be hosted at a cost of $10 – $20 minimum per year. But you can Get A Blog (including hosting) for nothing.

2. Setting up

Creating a website is difficult if not impossible for those who lack the necessary skills; and even with some technical skills, completion of the task can be very time consuming. A blog however, can be created quickly and easily. The method involves filling in a few fields; and it’s designed to be easily achievable by just about anyone. One man’s blog may be put up in a very short time, within a half hour or less by a person who has zero technical savvy, and be nonetheless every bit as fine as any first rate website.

A good website can involve a month to create. But it only takes a half hour or less to Set Up A Blog!

3. Making money

A website may be a good way to generate some spending money as a stage for selling various services or products. A blog can do likewise, and equally well if you market and promote it well. Any one man’s blog will do just as well as a similar website.

4. Aesthetics

Animation, audio and video are some of the techniques that can be used on a website. Your blog spot by comparison, may not be able to include all the high-tech stuff, though it has enough to put up a good show. Therefore one man’s blog spot might not be as “flashy”, but just as effective.

5. Maintaining and marketing

A blog can be constantly updated from day to day. Consequently blogging can easily attract more visitors compared to a website given equal effort. Fresh content can be more easily added to a blog than to a website.

So in a way, a blog performs its own self- promotion, as every time there is an entry it is re-indexed by the search engines. By comparison promotion of a website demands a greater investment in time to produce traffic.

Whether or not you already have a website blogging is a worthwhile. It’s very common to find a website supported by Blogs that have been created to focus traffic toward the website.

Blogging can also be very enjoyable since you can share your pictures and experience without spending a dime. Lots of those who started with a website eventually moved to blogging because it’s easy, free, and can be continuously updated.

Thus the question we should address is not “Why have a blog?” but “Why not have a blog?” The benefits being so numerous there’s just no reason not to take advantage of blogging.?
