How to write for A Blog effectively
Writing is a fascinating art for the simple reason that it is such a multifaceted act! It changes its colours so dexterously depending on the medium; writing a novel is so different from writing a poem, which is so very different from writing a business letter. The same art has so many different forms. For example, writing for a blog requires short, catchy, yet reflective writing. Writing for a blog is an interesting amalgamation of creative writing and journalistic writing. It’s journalistic because in order to write for, let’s say, a current affairs blog, one needs to write in a journalistic fashion but because the medium is internet, the writing needs to be creative and funky.
In order to write for a blog, one needs to do a thorough research and read up various Popular Blogs to come to grips with the writing style. This doesn’t mean that one needs to blindly follow one writing style. One can successfully formulate one’s own writing style after a carefully study of the prevalent styles and thus maintain originality. Basically, there is no sure shot formula on how to write for a blog effectively. The only rule of the thumb is that the writing shouldn’t be way too academic and essay like. The writing style should be racy and exciting. But, then again, one can’t generalize. The writing style depends majorly on the Blogger and the topic of The Blog. For example, if the blogging is on a literary subject, the language would be obviously more complex and layered than a general interest blog. Much like advertising, writing for a blog is a lot about creativity. Now, what kind of creativity clicks for the market is a tough nut to crack!
In order to write for a blog, it isn’t necessary that one needs to be an excellent writer. Even a mediocre writer can be an excellent blogger. After all, your blog isn’t just about writing. It’s also about the topics, the visual appeal, the graphics, the pictures, everything combined. Also, the amount of research matters. For example, if your blog is based on your real adventures or some solid real life journalism, then your posts carry a lot of weightage even if your writing is average. The interest in your blog comes form the fact that it ahs solid, original, journalistic content. Therefore, to write for a blog, you don’t have to be a Shakespeare or James Joyce!
Also, if you want your Blog To be fairly popular and generate business, you should use a lot of generic words as keywords in your blog and use various successful seo marketing strategies so that your blog comes up on various popular search engines. Basically, in order to write for a blog effectively, you need to have writing flair, an awareness of your industry as well as a shrewd business sense. Again, as mentioned previously, writing for a blog is a sort of a mixed bag and involves various components. In order to successfully master writing a blog, experience is the key.
